As a proponent of freedom of speech (meaning that contrary to popular belief, I support freedom of speech), I am posting the hate mail that I received this Christmas season. There’s no reason why I should be the only one to enjoy this “joy” that was spread to me by those who are proponents of spreading the “Christmas cheer” and “Christmas joy”. Also, thank you to my supporters and well wishers; I might post your emails as well because they completely out numbered the haters, although my supporters are way less ignorant so your mail isn’t as interesting.

Why don't you take down this stupid website and do the most important thing when residing in a neighborhood?
MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.
It's classless, mindless, self-important as*holes like you that take the fun out of Christmas and pushed me further into the privacy of my own wooded acres (50+ acres, all mine and you can't even see my house from the 'road').

I give you an A. Just a suggestion, if you really want to get in character as Tiny Tim, stay away from ladders. Quit complaining about other peoples yards, and worry about yours. Alot of people christmas spirit, and they dont want grinches like you to try and destroy the holidays for them. I would like you to watch "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and see for yourself. All your doing is make christmas a living hell for some people that just wanted to show their spirit. All I am trying to say, is let people be themselves. Dont go and mess up other people's holidays because your sucks.

I recently read about your "crusade" if you will, so I went to your site and checked it out. On the front page, it states that you are not trying to end decorating, and I want you to know that I understand that and agree. BUT I would like to know where you come off thinking that you have any right to publicly and openly judge others' decorating. It is a Mean and Malicious act none the less. It isnt any fun at all to the people who spent time and money on their set up and you know what, You dont have to like it. It wasnt done for you. But your website and what you are doing is no different than the school bully who used to make fun of kids for wearing glasses. I am sure that you would not like someone making fun of what you spent lots of time and care doing. and as far as multiple santas or snowmen?? whats wrong with that. The lights are supposed to be Just that, "Lights." it isnt real life. Things dont have to go in a chronological order. It is meant to be a spectalcle, not so mething to be analyzed. To sum up what I am trying to say, I think that you should take your website down. It promotes bullying, slander, and is just plain rude and mean, and I think you need to stop attempting to tell people how to regulate their decorations like you are some kind of elected official fashion police with the athority to hand out tickets or "violations".

people for their Christmas decorations? Sure some
people get a little carried away, but what you're
doing is equally as carried away. Your actions result
in cities passing ordinances against Christmas
decorations -- which sometimes go too far to the other
extreme -- an equally offensive move.

Personally, I don’t see why you ridicule these people for decorating their lawns. At least they get into the holiday spirit, unlike the “scrooges” who take over today’s society. I praise the fact that they took the time out of their busy lives to get festive for the holiday. Don’t you have anything better to do with your time than to make fun of people just because they have different tastes? You need to lighten up and enjoy the holiday in your own way, and let them enjoy the holiday in their own way. Like I tell the under seven crowd in my house, don’t worry about what the other kids are doing, and mind your own business.

All of those domain names were considered but I settled on TackyChristmasYards.com because it was a lot more descriptive of the content I was publishing.

I know you think its fun to trash on other peoples displays and lable them as "violations" but maybe you should stop and think a bit. All year long we have to list to garbage, bad stories in the news, the war, the pending doom of our world as we know it. We have to hear about hundreds of terrible things every day and we all work hard year in and out trying to keep our lives in perspective.
Once a year at the Christmas season some people want to express themselves and in their own way try to bring a little happiness and cheer but then the scrooges come along and complain about it. You say your having fun but really what you are doing is calling people names "tacky" and pointing out "violations" and then you post it on your website.
Maybe you should try to be less critical of others and worry about your own life. Personally I love seeing the beautiful displays and the lights and the cheer regardless of how folks want to do it, it just tells me that they care.

Your letter was a bit hard to follow but lucky for all of us, I can finish words in my head and decide that what you are trying to say is that you don’t like my website. You hate it because it is critical of others and you want me to worry about my own life. Why don’t you show me what that’s like and not be so critical of my site and worry about YOUR own life. I have no problem with people expressing themselves, in fact, I love it. This is why I have this site. Perhaps it’s not for the people like you in the world but rather for the people like me.
Also, are you putting TCY up there with the war? It’s these letters that make me realize how very important this site is!

At first when I accessed your website I thought you would be an offender of Christmas spirit. But then I realized you are far worse then a scrooge you are the epitome of what is wrong with Christmas and that is the COMMERCIALIZATION of it! Again, I encourage those of you reading this to bow down to me; I am "the epitome of what is wrong with Christmas". Forget Wal-Mart and Hallmark but ME! Just one question: What is the “Chirstmas Scrooge”?
Thanks for the screen shot of my Google ad for Christmas decor! I haven't really had time to look at the ads for myself. I did make some money from those ads, I'll let you know that my domain name, site hosting and time are worth far more than the $100 and some change that I brought in this year (yes, I will be claiming it on my taxes so that when the government needs to spend money on providing assistance to people or needs to have environmental education programs, my contribution will be there). Actually Ron, now that I think about it, I've not been fairly compensated for the joy that I brought to you through my site so I can't finish this letter.

Thank you so much for giving me such a compliment. I didn't realize what power I had when it came to the joy of the holiday season! People celebrated Christmas for many, many years -- even before there was electricity and plastic and nylon! All kids like them? I've seen some pretty scared kids running away screaming. Brian, did I ever say that I don't like Christmas decor? No. Learn to read. Also, pathetic people don't really have as much power as I do so I think you are wrong about me being pathetic.
