I know that we have careless trash collectors who don’t even bother to empty the entire trash can before throwing it back down (on its side - see photo of AFTER trash day) and driving away like a bat out of hell (practically running people over. I know that they have attitudes and are picky about whether or not they’ll actually take the items that you’ve left outside. However, I’m so tired of all of the garbage flying around the neighborhood on Thursdays! I must say that the carelessness of the garbage men isn’t the only factor in this problem. Years ago when I complained about it I was reminded to be sure to use garbage bags in order to cut down on fly away garbage. I agree that this would help drastically and so we’ve converted for the most part. My tension is that not only is most of our garbage making a huge environmental impact, but add a trash bag around all of it and it becomes worse! What are some alternatives? Also, how can we get our Mayor’s Action Center to actually do something to hold the trash collectors responsible for doing their job completely?
