Tonight we have a practice hike. Yes, a practice for the big Grand Canyon hike. We’re hiking a little bit tonight and then setting up camp and then hiking out in the morning. We will hike a total of 9 miles. Jay and I are packing up our backpacks to simulate what we are bringing in to the Grand Canyon.
So far we haven’t hiked with full packs and we haven’t hiked 9 miles. It’s 8 miles down into the Grand Canyon and the same back up. I’m getting excited!

I’m celebrating my one pound loss this week. This puts my total at 9 pounds lost.
I really want it to be more but until it’s 100% up to me to exercise and I haven’t been. I’m a slacker. I was talking to my uncle the other night and the way I see it, I have to work through one problem at a time. My job was unhappy, my financial life was not the best, my weight was bad, my friendships were suffering, my eating was off, my weight was out of control and my generally tidy, organized home was a nightmare.
I started a new job which helped my social life and made me happier. The financial situation is slowly being repaired. My meals are well thought out, planned and not at a restaurant table. This is helping the financial factor and the weight factor. All of the above have given me more time which has helped me with getting my home back into shape. The next sector I will focus on is my exercising.
Does anyone else ever have to partition off parts of their life and only deal with a few (or one) at a time?
